Mission Statement

The mission of the Academy for Social Action is to cultivate, educate, and graduate tomorrow's leaders while inspiring them to shape the many communities in which they reside. ASA students will become college-bound family and community leaders who are concerned for the rights and welfare of others, socially responsible, and confident in their capacity to make a difference. Our students will realize their innate potential and learn to capitalize on their strengths by understanding where they are now and focusing on their futures.

EXAMINATION SCHEDULE: AUGUST 2010
ALL STUDENTS MUST BE IN A UNIFORM SHIRT FOR SUMMER SCHOOL!!
ALL students must wear a uniform shirt during Summer School. There are NO EXCEPTIONS! You may purchase a light gym shirt online or at the school. Please see Mr. Williams for uniforms.
SUMMER READING & WRITING ASSIGNMENT: BOOK RESPONSE
Your task for the summer break is to read the assigned book and complete the task:
Sixth Grade: The Broken Bike Boy and the Queen of 33rd Street by Sharon G. Flake
Seventh Grade: Bang! by Sharon G. Flake
Eighth Grade: The Skin I’m In by Sharon G. Flake
